David Harris, left, watching teammate Kerry Rhodes break up a pass intended for the Bengals' Bernard Scott on Sunday, rode a stationary bike and underwent treatment Tuesday after spraining an ankle in the game.
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Jets linebacker David Harris has a ‘‘mild’’ right ankle sprain and will play on Saturday against the Bengals in their wild-card rematch, according to two people with knowledge of the injury who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they’re not authorized to speak publicly.
Harris, who was injured in the Jets’ 37-0 win over the Bengals on Sunday, didn’t practice Tuesday.
‘‘It’s just a mild sprain,’’ said one person. ‘‘He’s going to go. He’ll be out there on Saturday.’’
Harris, who is a key clog in the Jets run defense, has a team-high 142 tackles, 5 1/2 sacks and an interception this season.
Rex Ryan has tried to keep Harris’ status a secret, but the inside linebacker be on the field. Maybe he can introduce himself to Benson Saturday afternoon.
