MUNCIE, Ind. — Jarrod Jones had 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead Ball State to a double-overtime, 65-59 victory over Miami (Ohio) Tuesday night.
Jauwan Scaife scored 11 points for the Cardinals (9-9, 3-3 Mid-American). His three-point play with 44 seconds left in the second extra period put Ball State ahead to stay at 61-58.
Jones’ layup tied the game at 48 with 18 seconds left in regulation. Terrence Watson’s three-point play with 1:26 left in the first overtime made it 54-all.
Julian Mavunga led the RedHawks (6-13, 3-3) with 14 points. Nick Winbush added 10 points and Antonio Ballard had 11 rebounds for Miami.
Miami led 44-35 with nine minutes remaining, but Ball State held the RedHawks to four points the rest of the half and eventually forced overtime.
